No. Rep. Neal has argued on the campaign trail that his power as one of the House’s highest-ranking Democrats delivers immense funding for his district. A review of public funding data between 2022-2026 shows the opposite: Neal only secured 53% of the funds he requested, placing him behind Massachusetts Representatives Auchincloss, Lynch, McGovern, and Keating.
Rep. Neal has served as ranking Democrat on the Ways and Means committee, which regulates taxes, tariffs, and social programs like Medicare and social security, since 2019.
A bombshell 2024 report found that a year after Neal became chair of the powerful Ways and Means committee, his son founded a consulting agency. Since then, Neal’s son has been paid over a million dollars (yes, a million dollars!) by lobbying groups with interests in the decisions Rep. Neal makes as chair of the committee. If that’s not blatant corruption, then the Red Sox and Yankees aren’t rivals.
Corporate PACs.
Rep. Neal has accepted over $12,000,000 in campaign donations from corporate donors (his biggest fans) since 2009. Those are companies whose interests are not aligned with the district.
How much has Neal raised from regular people since he entered Congress in 1989? $70,000.
Neal receives a higher percentage of donations from corporate PACs than any other member of congress, Democrat or Republican.

The bombshell report referenced above found that Neal funnels thousands of fundraised dollars each month to his son. As of 2024, the totality had eclipsed $196,000.
Most of that money comes from corporations who have bought Neal out, but a fraction of it originates from working-class donors.
