When is this election everybody’s talking about?

The Massachusetts Democratic primary elections are on September 1st. The two candidates on the ballot to represent MA-01 are Jeromie Whalen and Richard Neal.

What is a primary, and why should I vote in it?

The candidate who receives the most votes in the Democratic Primary will advance to the general election in November. The Democratic Nominee for MA-01 has gone on to win the general in each election since 1991.


Do I need to be registered to vote, and what if I don’t know if I’m registered?

Voters must be registered to vote by August 22 to cast a ballot in person on September 1. To cast a ballot in the general election on November 3rd, you must be registered by October 24th.
